By accessing and using the website codexskin.storeand the CodexSkin Studio (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you must immediately discontinue using this website and the generator tool.
2. Description of Service
CodexSkin is a static, browser-local no-code utility designed to help users create visual personalization bundles ("Skins") for Codex Desktop. The website packages user-supplied images alongside a pinned release of the open-source Codex Dream Skin engine. The Service does not provide Hosting, Cloud Storage, or runtime servers.
3. User Content and Image Rights
You may select any image to use as your Codex background. You represent and warrant that:
- You own all rights to the image, or have obtained explicit permission, licensing, or fair-use clearance from the copyright holder.
- The image does not violate any local laws, regulations, or third-party intellectual property rights.
Because image processing occurs entirely within your local browser sandbox, we do not review, moderate, or store your images. You assume full legal responsibility for any content you process.
4. Trademark and Affiliation Disclaimer
CodexSkin is an independent, unofficial open-source utility. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or associated in any way with OpenAI or its official desktop applications. All official trademarks, product names, logos, and brands belong exclusively to their respective owners.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties ("AS IS")
The Service, the website, and all generated ZIP installer packages are provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without warranties of any kind.
- We do not warrant that the installation scripts or the theme engine will function uninterrupted, error-free, or meet your specific local environment requirements.
- We do not warrant that the visual inject method will remain compatible with future updates, patches, or security revisions of the official Codex Desktop app.
- You understand that installing unofficial visual scripts on your computer carries inherent risks, and you agree to run these scripts at your own discretion.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CodexSkin, its author, or contributors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages. This includes, but is not limited to, damages for loss of data, system performance disruptions, software glitches, application crashes, or other intangible losses arising out of the use or inability to use the generated installers.
7. Licensing of Underlying Code
While this website interface is static, the underlying themed shell engine is open-source. For macOS, licensing terms are defined under the MIT/Apache-2.0 or respective open-source headers located in the Codex Dream Skin GitHub Repository. You are encouraged to review these licenses.
8. Service Modifications
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the static website at any time without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification or suspension of the static generation utility.
